- The years of service began as Medical Officer in General Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, with postgraduates posted in the unit to manage an out patient of different spectrum like refractive errors, cataract , ocular infections , neuro-ophthal ailments and managed keratoconus with special contact lenses like rose k lenses. The surgical challenges of high volume camp cases and more complicated cataract surgeries to phacoemulsification with foldable intraocular lenses were performed in countless numbers
- At Sathyan Eye Care Hospital & Coimbatore Glaucoma Foundation, general ophthalmology added new dimension of treating and educating patients with diabetic retinopathy, uveitis, age related macular degeneration and other medical retina practice. The introduction of the yellow laser iridex 577 for treating diabetic retinopathy and central serous choir-retinopathy added tissue and vision saving results. The cataract surgeries took new dimensions of giving extended vision lenses and multifocals with priority on individualised and personal care .
