About Dr. P. Sathyan M.B.B.S, DO, Dip.N.B..
Director of Sathyan Eye Care Hospital & Coimbatore Glaucoma Foundation, Dr. Sathyan Parthasarathi is an experienced and well reputed Ophthalmologist from Coimbatore. His rich experience includes his long stint at Aravind Eye Hospital which is considered as one of the best hospitals in India. He held a position of Chief- Glaucoma Services of Aravind Eye Hospital for 20 years and performed more than 75,000 Cataract, Glaucoma and other surgeries. Dr. Sathyan Parthasarathi is also working with Sankara Eye Hospitals and PSG Hospitals in Coimbatore as Professor of Ophthalmology.
Several drug developing companies, instrument and equipment manufacturers for both ophthalmology and non-ophthalmology field have been benefitted by Dr. Sathyan Parthasarathi's knowledge. Till date, he has trained more than 150 ophthalmologists in Glaucoma at national and international level in addition to donning a hat of guide and mentor for many ophthalmologists and non-ophthalmologists.
Dr. Sathyan Parthasarathi has set up an effective and functional model for 'Reduction of Waiting Time in Outpatient Clinic' in a crowded eye care system which is accepted and studied by University of Michigan, USA and well received in the London Business School as a model.
He has conducted many Glaucoma CME programmes, workshops and conferences including national conference besides conducting various symposiums and instruction courses in national and international conferences. He has been part of several prestigious events such as International Glaucoma Forum, ASIA ARVO, South East Asia Glaucoma Interest Group (SEAGIG), International Congress on Glaucoma Surgery (ICGS) and World Glaucoma Society where he was invited as Faculty. His career highlight is sharing podium of World Glaucoma Congress with world's best ophthalmologists as a Guest Speaker.
